BASIN
is a mercantile store with weathered pine shelves, linen curtains
and metal tubs, where customers scoop their own bath crystals;
soaps cut from the original block, shampoos and facials mixed
in basins using all natural ingredients. These images from the
19th century are both familiar and comfortable.

The experience presented by Basin
as well as its products set the store apart from the rest. Basin
customers have the feeling that they are a part of the process.
The store's atmosphere even becomes a draw, as people enjoy watching
the soaps being cut and shampoos being mixed. People can quickly
see for themselves that Basin's products are made naturally and
are of the highest quality. The store setting, too, is top notch.
Weathered pine flooring, muslin fabric drapes, wooden bins and
shelves, and classic fixtures all set in neutral colors set the
store's uncomplicated tone. Concrete sink basins are used throughout
to display items in bulk. |
These and the antique bathtub at the store's
entrance as well as the mosaic tiling around the store's perimeter
all suggest the appearance of pure water. The old-style Basin
product trademarks are both subtle and simple, contributing
to the 19th century feel of the store, without being overwhelming.
In short, everything says "all natural" in soft, neutral
tones which calmly impress rather than shouting out at the customer.
In the busy and noisy marketplace of today, Basin is a refreshing
alternative.
Note: We test all of our products personally and through human volunteers. We do not use any ingredients that are known to cause irritation in the first place and then personally test each product for reactions as there can be reactions to products that are thought to be mild when coupled with other ingredients. We do not believe in animal testing and do not test any of our products on animals.
